Bhajan Lal Sharma was born on December 15, 1967, in the city of Bharatpur. He pursued his education in Political Science, earning a postgraduate degree from Rajasthan University in Jaipur. Before stepping into politics, Sharma was a proprietor of a company named Shri Krishna Kanhaiya and also held a salaried position in the Railway Ministry of the Government of India. He earned additional income from rent and bank interest.
His political journey began with the Bharatiya Janta Party
(BJP). Known as an organization man within the party, Sharma held the position
of state BJP general secretary in charge of the party headquarters in
Jaipur. He also served the party as the state general secretary four times,
setting a record.
Sharma represents the Sanganer assembly constituency. His effective work and dedication to the party led to his rise in the ranks and he was elected to the Sanganer Assembly in December 2023. Subsequently, he was chosen to serve as the 14th Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Despite being a relatively low-profile leader, Sharma, a 56-year-old upper-caste Brahmin, surpassed veterans to secure this prestigious position. His political career thus marks a journey from a party worker to the Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
