👀Bharatpur Fort or Lohagarh fort is situated in the heart of Bharatpur City.One of the finest architecture in Rajasthan, the Lohagarh fort or Iron Fort derives its name from the fact that it is one of the strongest castle ever made in history and could never be conquered, not even by any Mughal ruler or during the British rule. The reason that this fort has never been won by anyone is the pond (Sujanganga river) that surrounds this fort in a circular path and the courage of jat rulers as well.

👉It was built by the rulers of Bharatpur Jat Community. Maharaja Suraj Mal built many forts and palaces throughout his kingdom including Lohagarh Fort, one of the strongest ever built in Indian history. The inaccessible fort of Lohagarh was able to withstand repeated attacks by British forces led by Lord Lake in 1805 when they laid siege for over six weeks. Of the two gates in the fort, the one to the north is known as the Ashtdhaatu (eight metal) gate while the one facing south is called the Chowburja (four-column) gate.

👉Monuments in the fort include  Kishori Mahal, Mahal Khas and Kothi Khas. Moti Mahal (Bharatpur) | Moti Mahal and towers like Jawahar Burj and Fateh Burj were erected to commemorate the victory over the Mughals and the British army. The walkway has paintings of huge elephants.The British tried to seige the fort four times but always suffered a defeat. The Lohagarh fort houses the Kishori Mahal, Moti Mahal, Mahal Khas, Kothi Khas, towers like Fateh Burj, Jawahar Burj and the Bharatpur government museum.

👉Bharatpur is ruled by Jat rulers and most of the population in bharatpur region and its nearby area is of Jat community. Some Jat families in Bharatpur have ancestors from ruling family or the ministers of the late king of bharatpur. Maharaja visvendra singh of bharatpur is 14^th generation of ruler king of bharatpur. He is also a minister in Rajasthan government in 2022. He always do his best to protect the historical facts related to bharatpur and condemns any allegations or false statements related to bharatpur history or against any king of bharatpur.

👉As This fort also houses the Bharatpur government Museum, positioned in the center of the Lohagarh fort is a well kept repository of the archaeological wealth, lifestyle, art & architecture, cultural significance and arms & armoury of the bygone era. This museum is an ode to the rich heritage, valor, magnificence, oppulence and aura of the Jat kingdom. This place is certainly a must visit for travellers.This fort is on the way to bharatpur national park.The musuem inside the fort is open to public.In the musuem we can see lot of things that had been used by bharatpur kings and queens.It is worth to visit this place to know about the history of the jat kings which ruled bharatpur.

As bharatpur fort is located in centre of bharatpur city . one can take auto or rikshaw from Bus stand or Railway Station to reach Bharatpur fort. This will cost Maximum Rs.50
