Raj bahadur


👉Raj Bahadur was born on  August 21, 1912 in Bharatpur (now Rajasthan, India). He graduated from Sadar High School, Bharatpur; Maharaja's High School and College, Jaipur, Agra College and St. Johns' College, Agra and obtained his M., B.Sc. and LL.B.

👉He was associated with the Socialist Republican Army of Hindustan from 1929 to 1930.

👉Bahadur was a member of the Central Consultative Committee of Bharatpur State from 1939 to 1942 and was associated with the Bharatpur Praja Parishad party which was affiliated with the  People's Conference of Indian States from 1939 to 1948.

👉He became municipal commissioner of the Bharatpur  from 1941 to 1942.Raj Bahadur was the secretary and later the vice-president of Bharatpur  Praja Parishad from 1943 to 1947. He was also a member of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee since his registration.

Contributions

👉Raj Bahadur was Secretary General of the Congress Committee of the Matsya Union  from 1948 to 1949 and He was also a member of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee and  President of the Bharatpur Bar Association from 1948 to 1951.

 

👉Raj Bahadur was a member of the Provisional Parliament from 1950 to 1952 and  Secretary of the Congress Party in  Parliament from 1950 to 1952. From 1951 to 1956 he was  Deputy Minister for Communications and from 1952 to 1957 he was also a member of the First Lok Sabha,Second Lok Sabha from 1957 to 1962, third Lok Sabha from 1962 to 1967 and Committee of the  Indian Congress  from 1952 to 1967.


👉From February 1956 to December 1956 he was  Minister in the Ministry of Communications; the Minister of Communications from December 1956 to April 1957; the Minister of State in the Ministry of Transport and Communications from 1957 to 1962; the Minister of Shipping in the Ministry of Transport and Communications from 1962 to 1963 , Minister of Transport responsible for navigation, traffic, civil aviation and tourism from August 1963 to January 1966 and the Minister for Information and Broadcasting from January 1966 to February 1967.

👉He was also Indian Ambassador to Nepal from January 1968 to January 1971 and was appointed  Cabinet Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Navigation and Transport on March 18, 1971.

👉He organized several social improvement and welfare works among the backward classes and campaigned against beggar (forced labor) in Bharatpur
