👉A Favorite festival of bharatpur and the braj region, Braj Holi is celebrated a few days before the main Holi festival. Although the festival is devoted to the Hindu god Krishna, it also represents the lasting love of Radha and Krishna. The locals participate in the festival with  zeal and zest and also organize many cultural activities and theatrical performances, including  traditional Rajasthani folk dance and cultural dances.

👉The Braj festival is a festival celebrated by Hindus in  Bharatpur, Rajasthan, India. The festival commemorates the visit of the Hindu god Brahma to the Braj region in ancient India. Braj region is famous for lord shree krishna as he spends his childhood in Mathura which is near to bharatpur approx. 30 kms..

 

👉All people are seen dressed in their colorful clothes, making the neighborhood lively and beautiful. Dance songs are played in the background and people sprinkle each other with colors and colored water, however, before engaging into these exciting activities, people take a holy dip in the Banganga river, as it is believed that it purifies sins.

 

👉Devotees also visit  RadhaKrishna temple early in the morning which is located on the river bank. Sometimes famous Bollywood musicians and singers are invited to organize the event and gather more crowds. This colorful festival is all about  eating, drinking, dancing, doing and partying.

 

👉Bharatpur is located in Braj Bhoomi, the birthplace of Lord Krishna and where he spent his childhood.The Raas Leela, describes the life of Krishna, is performed by professionals chosen by the Rai group for this occasion. Bharatpur is well connected by road and rail with Old Delhi, Jaipur, city and different cities and cities of North India.

 

👉Bharatpur is set on the Delhi - Mumbai main railway line and additionally on National main road no. 11. connecting Agra to Bikaner.

 

The  highlight of the festival is the Rasleela dance execute by professional men and women artist. The dance form depicts the love story of Radha and Krishna. 


👉People eat special Holi festival sweets and distributed to everyone. People also consume bhang(soft drug ) and thandai, a popular drink.
